THE HANGAR

If you’d like to use The Hangar alongside Barn Drift, for an event, a retreat, or simply more space to gather do get in touch or add it during booking. We absolutely never mind questions.

The Hangar sits between woodland and an acre of lawn, with vast sea and sky beyond. It’s deliberately simple in the best way – unspoilt, open-plan, and full of character and giving you a beautiful blank canvas to make your own, whether you’re planning a private celebration, a corporate retreat, or something more creative.

Built in the 1940s on the site of an old cattle shed, it was once an aircraft hangar with an original concrete floor and tin roof; today it’s been thoughtfully set up for events, retreats and long-table celebrations, without losing any of its rugged charm.

Inside The Hangar

The Hangar measures 9m x 12m, with a wonderfully relaxed, industrial feel and an easy layout for gatherings of all kinds.

You’ll find:

• An electric Aga
• A butlers sink
• Trestle tables
• A loo
• Super-fast Wi-Fi (upgraded to ensure excellent connection in the Hangar and surrounding grounds)

The Hangar is available with Barn Drift as a flexible, “tailor-made-by-you” extension. Bring your own caterer, your own florists, your own ideas. Or keep it simple and let the landscape be the main event.

It’s ideal for dinners, parties, meetings, talks, workshops, tastings, exhibitions, yoga or art. Anything that benefits from space, simplicity, and a setting that does half the work for you.

Outside Space and Facilities

Step out of the Hangar and you’ve got an acre of lawn and the edge of woodland and there is plenty of room to spread out, gather people comfortably, or create something temporary and beautiful – India tent anyone?

We also have permanent English Shepherd Hut loos and showers and an outside water supply and sink.

Need to Know

The Hangar is fully accessible on one level, with no restrictions (including the Hangar loo).

You’re free to use your own suppliers. We simply need details, timings and guest numbers so the practicalities (parking, insurance and the like) are covered.

Amplified music finishes at midnight, to protect the peaceful surroundings and the village beyond.
